Peppermint Liqueur Cocktails

6 easy recipes with printable gift tags

I did a previous post that was almost identical to this one. Almost identical. That post had Cranberry Liqueur Cocktail Recipes. This post has the exact same format, but different recipes. These recipes use peppermint liqueur. A different taste altogether.

You need to start with my post about how to make Homemade Peppermint Liqueur (Peppermint Schnapps). It's simple to make. However, it has to steep for 2 weeks; so, plan ahead. This festive liqueur is great to have on hand during the holidays, and it makes a great gift. It's also a great mixer for refreshing summer time drinks.

6 cocktail recipes. In this post, I'm sharing 6 recipes for easy cocktails you can make using the peppermint liqueur. During the holiday season and winter, adding this liqueur to a cup of hot cocoa is hard to beat. (View my recipe for Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix.) But, don't stop there. There are easy summertime cocktails that are so refreshing with a touch of this minty delight. Minty lemonade? Hard to go wrong there.

Make it a gift. In addition to the recipes, I'm providing you with a downloadable recipe card that has all of the recipes on one card. That way you can print it out and tie it to your liqueur bottles--handy for you, and also if you give it as a gift. You'll find free downloadable gift tags near the bottom of the post, too.

Here's what you need to assemble to make the cocktails:

Peppermint liqueur. You can buy it ready-made (Peppermint Schnapps); or if you want to make a homemade batch, here's my recipe.

Mixers. Below are some of the non-alcoholic mixers I chose from. In the recipes in this post, I used the lemonade, egg nog, Sierra Mist, hot cocoa & iced tea (not pictured), lemons and limes. You'll see once you start trying these recipes, that it's easy to come up with other combinations with additional mixers. So many possibilities.

For alcohol mixers (not pictured), I used vodka, sparkling wine, Bailey's Irish cream, and creme de cacao, along with the peppermint liqueur.

Here are two downloadable gift tags that you can print (cardstock recommended), hole punch, and tie onto a gift bottle of peppermint liqueur. Or, any gift bottle, for that matter.

Bottle of liqueur + cocktail recipe card = fun, festive gift!

The photo below shows how I decorated my peppermint liqueur for a gift. To continue the peppermint theme, I rolled the recipe card around a candy cane and secured it with a rubberband. I attached the CHEERS! gift tag to the bottle with another rubberband (punched a hole in the upper left corner of the gift tag, looped a rubberband through the hole and put the rubberband around the bottle). Finally, I tied the candy cane to the bottle with same the ribbon that I used to tie a bow.

Also pictured is a bottle of my Homemade Cranberry Liqueur. I rolled the recipe card (see my post Cranberry Liqueur Cocktail Recipes) and attached it with a rubberband before attaching the gift card and tying on the bow.
