Ingredients
Directions
ON STOVE TOP:
--In small saucepan, combine water and sugar over medium heat, cook and stir until sugar is dissolved and liquid is clear (not cloudy)--approx. 5 min. Don't overcook, or it will thicken too much. Let cool completely. Store in refrigerator.
IN MICROWAVE:
--Add water and sugar to microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes; stop and stir; return to microwave for 30-60 seconds more (total cooking time of 3 minutes) or until sugar is completely dissolved and liquid is clear (not cloudy).
--Recommended cooking time is for 1100-watt microwave; adjustments may be necessary for different wattage.
FOR A LARGER BATCH: Recipe can easily be doubled or more, using the ratio of 1 part water to 1 part sugar. This ratio is most commonly used by bartenders.
STORAGE: Store in jar in the fridge for up to 1-2 months.
